Young Students Programs, Grades 2-6

Notice for Session 1 and Hong Kong Sites: In light of the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic, CTY, in close coordination with Johns Hopkins University leadership, has made the difficult decision to cancel Session 1 of our 2020 Summer Programs, along with all courses at our Hong Kong sites. Please visit our online information center to learn more.

Notice for Session 2: CTY is continuing to accept applications for our 2020 Summer Programs Session 2 courses. Session 2 course assignments, however, will be paused until May 1. Any student who has an application on file by April 24 will be assigned at that time, provided space remains in one of their course choices.

CTY offers day programs for grades 2-6 and residential programs for grades 5-6. Please click on the links below for more information about each of these gifted and talented programs, including eligibility requirements, catalog information, and program dates.

Programs for Grades 2-4

CTY offers summer day programs for qualified students who have completed grades 2-4 in the Baltimore-Washington and New York City metropolitan areas, as well as in La Jolla, Los Angeles, and San Mateo, California. Eligibility for these programs is based on the last grade the student has completed, as well as the student's score on the CTY-administered SCAT test.

One-Week Programs at day site locations: CTY is excited to offer one-week courses at the Baltimore and Sandy Spring sites in Maryland, the Alexandria site in Virginia, the La Jolla site in California, and the Stamford day site in Connecticut. These courses, for students who have completed grades 2-4, provide an excellent introductory CTY experience. Learn more about One-Week Courses.
