- Grade 4+
Welcome to the club! In CTY’s Chess Club, students who enjoy playing the game come together to practice their chess tactics and strategies in a community setting.
Through forum discussion and the opportunity to play games multiple times per week, you’ll improve in chess knowledge, strategy, and confidence!
This club has synchronous virtual club meetings where you can interact with other club members. Meetings will be recorded for students who are unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts.
A few notes about CTY Chess Club:
This is not meant to replace or be considered a core piece of any course that CTY offers. While curricular content will be introduced, it is not at the quantity of a course, the focus is on giving students a chance to interact as a group rather than individual time working with a club advisor.
Meeting times: Mondays 9-10 a.m., and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 7-8 p.m. ET
Time Commitment: 2 hours per week (2 hours club meetings)
Register for an Online course by selecting an open club below. If no open classes are listed, then course enrollment is currently closed. Note: You will need to have an active CTY Account to complete registration through MyCTY.
