Study of Exceptional Talent

A longitudinal study is being carried out by the Study of Exceptional Talent (SET). This initiative began with the original work of Dr. Julian Stanley and includes exceptionally gifted students, i.e., those scoring at least 700 on either the math or verbal (critical reading) section of the SAT before age 13. This study focuses on understanding the characteristics and needs of students with extraordinary talents, and on evaluating intervention strategies to help them achieve their full potential. SET's database includes students from CTY's Talent Search, as well as students who take the SAT through other talent searches or on their own.
