Sandy Spring Friends School, founded in 1961, is part of a long history of Quaker education dating back more than 325 years. Quiet meadows and farmlands surround the environmentally conscious campus. Facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, science labs, a dining hall in which students participate in composting, a computer lab, indoor and outdoor facilities for activities, and nature trails.

Classes meet between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Before- and after-program care is available at an additional cost. Students should expect to do between 30 and 60 minutes of homework each weeknight.
