Arabic for Elementary Students, Basic, Part IV
- Grades 2-6
In the fourth part of our introductory Arabic-language series for elementary school students, you’ll improve your proficiency in written and spoken modern standard Arabic. Your skills will grow to include reading and writing short paragraphs and explaining simple grammar, to using new greetings and describing the culture in Middle Eastern countries. You’ll also extend your knowledge of the history, customs, and daily life in Arab cultures.
During virtual class meetings your instructor will guide you through lessons, discussions, games, and other resources designed to enhance your learning. You will also participate in one-on-one virtual meetings with your instructor and teaching assistant.
Meeting times: Monday, Wednesday – 7-8 p.m. ET
Time Commitment: 4 - 5.75 hours per week (2 hours class time, 0.75 hours optional meeting, 2-3 hours independent work).

This course uses a virtual classroom for instructor-student communication. The classroom works on standard computers with the Zoom desktop client, and on tablets or handhelds that support the Zoom Mobile app. Recorded meetings can only be viewed on a computer with the Zoom desktop client installed. The Zoom desktop client and Zoom Mobile App are both free to download.
Most course lectures may be viewed on mobile devices, but some assignments and quizzes must be completed on a desktop or laptop computer.

Each week, students read and discuss a new STEM topic and learn a foundational element of the writing process. Through interactive live sessions with peers, real-world discussion topics, and scaffolded activities, students enhance their writing skills one step at a time.
