The students behind these innovative concepts were among those selected to receive the CTY Cogito Research Award, a prize given annually to middle and high school students from around the world who demonstrate initiative, creativity, and promise in their STEM research-project proposals. This joint appointment between the School of Education and the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) reflects Johns Hopkins’ commitment to interdisciplinary research and to advancing the science of learning.

Jonathan Plucker is a prominent education policy and talent development scholar, and the inaugural Julian C. Stanley Professor of Talent Development at Johns Hopkins University. He holds a joint appointment at the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) and School of Education.
He has been supported by more than $30 million in external grants and contracts, and has published over 200 articles, chapters and reports.
