Resident Assistant for Marine Sciences Site

Most Marine Sciences resident assistants (RAs) are land-based half of the session, living in a residence hall, and field-based the other half, joining their students in daily sailing and camping. RAs are responsible for supervising students, providing support, and leading recreational activities. During course fieldwork, RAs supervise students and assist with ship and campsite responsibilities. RAs work weekends.

Terms of Employment:

  • First-year salary is $1,400 per session
  • Employees pay their travel to and from the program location
  • Room and board are provided

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience as a college RA or camp counselor
  • College GPA of 3.2 or better
  • Experience supervising young students
  • High level of responsibility and energy
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to create and organize special events and daily recreational programs
  • Ability to enforce rules
  • Ability to work effectively in committees
  • Experience with sailing and/or camping
  • Interest in marine biology or ecology
