Dean of Students

A member of the site administrative staff, the dean of students supervises the program assistants and coordinates the afternoon activities program. In addition, the dean of students works closely with the academic dean and instructors to ensure a smooth integration of the recreational and academic aspects of the program. The dean of students may be asked to assume the site director's responsibilities in the site director's absence.

Terms of Employment

  • First-year salary is $5,600 for a seven-week period
  • Attendance the first weekend in June at an orientation in Baltimore, Friday to Sunday (no additional compensation, but CTY pays travel expenses and provides room and board)
  • Occasional telephone consultations during the year, as needed
  • Employees are responsible for providing their travel to and from program locations
  • Lunch is provided

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)
  • Teaching/counseling/coaching experience
  • Recreational activity planning experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficiency

Programs run from late June to early August. Please refer to the Site Locations & Dates page for the specific dates of employment.
