CTY is experiencing heavy communications and application processing volumes. We appreciate your patience and will respond to queries as quickly as possible.
Families are encouraged to register as early as possible since many of our programs fill up quickly. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Full payment must be included with your registration form. All registrations are subject to our terms and conditions. There are three ways to register for Family Academic Programs:
CTY accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and checks or money orders made payable to JHU/CTY. Payments will be processed automatically upon receipt. However, your family's reservation is not final until you receive written confirmation. If we are unable to register your family because the program has reached capacity, you will be issued a full credit and placed on a waiting list. Please do not purchase non-refundable airline tickets or hotel reservations until you receive registration confirmation. Please note that all past due balances (for any CTY program) must be paid before we will process registration for a Family Academic Program. All payments will be applied to past due balances first.
All CTY Talent Search participants are eligible to attend Family Academic Programs. No minimum qualifying scores are required. At least one parent or guardian must register and attend the program with the student(s). Siblings will be admitted but they must be registered for the event and their age must be within the program's specified range.
Families who wish to withdraw their registration for a program must notify CTY Family Academic Programs by writing to email@example.com.
Refunds are issued in the same method of payment (check or charge) used for initial payment. Refunds may take up to five days to process for an electronic payment. Paper check refunds may take two to four weeks to process from the time the withdrawal notification is received. Please note, separate cancellation policies apply for our Educational Travel Programs.
Registration confirmation letters will be sent via e-mail approximately four weeks before the program date. Please do not make non-refundable travel plans (e.g. airline tickets, hotels) until you receive these materials, which include exact times, arrival instructions, directions to the program, and the program itinerary. CTY is not responsible for any travel or lodging expenses or out-of-pocket costs incurred.
All registered participants are required to sign a liability release during the registration process. The specific terms and conditions of that liability release are available in the Family Academic Programs application materials. Among other things, upon signing the liabliity release, participants acknowledge that participation in CTY Family Academic Programs can result in physical injury, accident, illness, death, loss of personal property, or other contingencies which may befall participants while being involved with the program.
All registered participants agree and acknowledge that CTY may take photographs at their programs and reproduce them in CTY's print and online educational, news, or promotional material. By participating in CTY programs, participants grant CTY the right to use their photograph, unless written notice is given otherwise. No compensation is provided for CTY's use of photographs featuring participants. All images are the property of CTY.
CTY aims to provide assistance to enable qualified gifted students to participate in our programs. We consider factors such as parent income, available discretionary resources, family size and any special circumstances when making decisions about distribution of financial aid. We do not give financial aid for Educational Travel Programs. Visit CTY Financial Aid for more information.
