About the Course

Strengthen your analytical and problem-solving skills and become a stronger competitor in this challenging course that’s designed for students with minimal math competition experience at the middle school level. Through lessons, sample problems, videos, and mini-competitions, we’ll build on ideas introduced in Middle School Competitive Mathematics I, developing your skills in logic, algebra, geometry, number theory, and probability. Weekly synchronous sessions led by a CTY instructor will guide you and your classmates through competition strategies, and timed assessments will help you build experience for real competitions.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify and solve competition-style problems, quickly and in a timed environment, at the MOEMS and MATHCOUNTS levels, covering topics in number theory, algebra, geometry, probability, and logic
  • Articulate the steps of your problem-solving process
