The Importance of Failure in the Learning Process (Parents and students)

Failure can be deeply upsetting for kids, so how we as adults respond to failure is important. Together, we will read the inspiring picture book Beautiful Oops, in which mistakes become opportunities for creativity. We’ll also discuss how you can help your children see failure as a chance to grow and recognize their own resilience.

This session will feature a presentation from the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) followed by a Q&A with the Gifted and Advanced Learning (GAL) office.

Cost: Free

Audience: Open to the public, parents and students.

Location:
Commodore John Rodgers Elementary/Middle School
100 North Chester Street
