CTY knows bright students thrive on praise and recognition, yet far less public recognition is given for academic talent than for sports, music, or other abilities. Top Talent Search students are invited to our Award Ceremonies, and the very top students are invited to attend the Grand Ceremony at Johns Hopkins University. In addition, all honorees receive a certificate of high honors. All students who test through Talent Search receive a certificate of participation.
If you have been invited to an awards ceremony, please RSVP by logging into MyCTY.
Students in grades 2-8 who enroll in the 2017 CTY Talent Search, take the specified test for their grade from July 1, 2016 - February 28, 2017, and meet or exceed the required Award Ceremony scores, will be honored in Spring 2017. (Students who test late in the 2016 Talent Search cycle, from March 1 through June 30, 2016, and meet the eligibility scores are considered late qualifiers and will also be invited to the 2017 Award Ceremony.) PSAT 8/9, SAT, and ACT test scores must be received by CTY no later February 28, 2017.
Award Ceremony eligibility scores will be available via MyCTY in early August 2016.
The Grand Ceremony is for students in grades 7-8 who enroll in the CTY Talent Search, test prior to June 30, and meet or exceed the required Grand Ceremony scores. Eligible students will receive invitations for the Grand Ceremony, held in the fall at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., where they receive a medal honoring their outstanding academic achievements.
Grand Ceremony eligibility scores will be available via MyCTY in early August 2016.
