Identify Students

The Talent Search identifies students who exhibit outstanding academic talent based on the following criteria:

Nationally normed testing

Achievement at the 95th percentile or higher on one or more sections of a nationally normed standardized test.

If your students did not take a nationally normed test during 2015-16, you may consider scores from the next most recent year for which you have scores available.

State testing

Achievement at the highest levels on state tests, designated as advanced proficiency, distinguished, honors, or gifted.

If your students did not take a state test during 2015-16, you may consider scores from the next most recent year for which you have scores available.

Superior academic performance

Students who do not have standardized test scores may use parent nomination. The parent nomination is NOT to be used for students who have scores below the 95th percentile, but only for those students with NO test scores who demonstrate superior academic performance.
