Eligibility: CTY Young Students Grades 2-6

Eligibility for CTY Young Students summer programs courses is based upon scores earned on an above-grade-level SCAT (School and College Ability Test), either alone or in combination with CTY’s Spatial Test Battery (STB). Please see details in the Eligibility Chart, which can be downloaded below.

Students’ eligibility for CTY Young Students summer programs is valid from the year they test through the summer after 6th grade, even if they choose not to attend the program immediately.

Note to 6th graders: We also have summer programs for students who have completed 7th grade or above. Qualifying scores from SAT, ACT, Advanced SCAT and/or Spatial Test Battery are required. If you last tested in 5th grade or before, you must take one of these tests and qualify to continue. If you tested this year, as a 6th grader, and met the scores shown for 6th graders in the chart below, you are eligible for corresponding courses in the 7th grade and above programs without retesting.

For additional information on the STB, visit www.cty.jhu.edu/ts/stb_index.html or call 410-735-6278.
