Computer Based SCAT at Prometric

CTY Talent Search students in grades 2-8 and students in grades 9 and above may take the computerized School and College Ability Test (SCAT) by appointment at a Prometric testing center. Prometric offers the test at their test centers worldwide several times a month. Please submit a Talent Search application to receive an eligibility number for Prometric test registration. 

Paper and Pencil SCAT

To provide additional testing options for CTY students in Hong Kong and China, CTY will offer the following paper-based SCAT testing sessions this fall. Please click on the appropriate links below to access test information for each location:

The testing fee is US $177 (US $57 for 2019 Talent Search application fee and US $120 for SCAT). CTY will also offer paper-based testing at select schools in Hong Kong and China. Details about other school-based testing options, if available, will be announced by the schools separately

CTY-Administered SCAT Public Testing at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) – Session I or II (Testing Code: 38002 or 38003)

  • Date: Sunday, November 11, 2018
  • Time: 10-11:30 a.m. (Testing Code: 38002) OR 2-3:30 p.m. (Testing Code: 38003)
  • Venue: The University of Hong Kong - Library Extension (LE 2-6)

  • Grade Level: 2-8 (not for grade 9 or above)

CTY-Administered SCAT Public Testing in Shanghai – Session I, II, III or IV (Testing Code: 38005, 38006, 38007 or 38008)

  • Date: Saturday, November 24, 2018
  • Time: For students in grades 2-3:
    8:30–10 a.m. (Testing Code: 38005)
    For students in grades 4-8:
    11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (Testing Code: 38006) OR
    2-3:30 p.m. (Testing Code: 38007) OR
    4:30-6 p.m. (Testing Code: 38008)

Registration Instructions for CTY-Administered SCAT Testing

To apply for this CTY-Administered SCAT testing, follow the instructions below carefully and submit the application before the registration deadline. Please note that there are three possible ways to apply, depending on whether you have ever registered with CTY before. Follow the appropriate link to register for the test:

*Important: Please note that you must put down the appropriate Testing Code under "CTY-Administered Testing" to register for the test. It is important that you use the correct Testing Code for the location and time you are selecting, otherwise your registration will not be processed correctly. See an example for the Shanghai test below:
