Working at CTY Summer Sites

At the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY), students explore their interests and challenge themselves academically while belonging to a vibrant learning community and making lifelong friends. As part of our On-Campus Summer Programs team, you can develop invaluable skills, grow your professional networks, and have fun while earning a competitive salary and working closely with bright students from around the world. Our On-Campus Summer Programs are held at esteemed colleges, universities, and schools around the United States.

Various positions are available at our residential and day sites.

At residential sites, students and staff live on campus during the session. Housing and meals are provided in addition to the salary for staff. View a sample daily schedule.

Core Student Dates for Summer 2025

2025 Session Dates for all sites except UC Santa Cruz, Skidmore College, and Speyer School: 

  • Session One: June 22-July 11
  • Session Two: July 13-August 1

2025 Session Dates for UC Santa Cruz, Skidmore College, and Speyer School: 

  • Session One: June 29-July 18
  • Session Two: July 20-August 8

Arrival date for Site Administrators: Session One administrators arrive the Sunday before academic and residential staff for orientation and training. This includes Site Directors, Academic Deans, Academic Counselors, Assistant Site Directors, Deans of Residential Life, Deans of Students, Office Managers, Site Nurses, Assistant Academic Deans, Dean of Students’ Assistants, General Assistants, Senior Resident Assistants, Health Assistants, and Residential Program Assistants. Please note that senior administrative staff (Site Directors, Assistant Site Directors, Academic Deans, Academic Counselors, Deans of Students, Deans of Residential Life, and Office Managers) also attend mandatory training the first Saturday and Sunday in June.
Arrival date for Instructors, Teaching Assistants, Program Assistants, and Resident Assistants: Session One staff in these positions arrive the Thursday before students arrive to get acclimated and trained. Session Two staff generally arrive the Saturday (one day) before student arrival day. Speyer staff for Session Two arrive the Thursday before students arrive due to weekend campus availability.
