2008 Young Students
Day Site Information Sessions


In February, there will be information sessions for our three Young Students day site programs in the Baltimore-Washington area. The schedule for open houses is below:

Sandy Spring, Maryland Sandy Spring Friends School, 16923 Norwood Road, Sandy Spring, MD 20860 ): Sunday, February 10, 2:00–3:00 pm. The meeting is in the lobby of the new Middle School.

Alexandria, Virginia (St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Upper School Campus, 1000 St. Stephen’s Road, Alexandria, VA 22304 ): Sunday, February 17, 2:00 - 3:00 pm. The meeting is in the library.
Directions to St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Upper School

Brooklandville, Maryland (St. Paul's School, 11152 Falls Road, Brooklandville, MD 21002): Sunday, February 24, 2:00 - 3:00 pm. The meeting is in the Ward Center for the Arts.

Directions to Sandy Spring Friends School (Sandy Spring, MD)

From Points South:
Via Connecticut Avenue—Go north on Connecticut (Rt. 185) to Kensington. Bear left to stay on Connecticut at junction with University Boulevard. Turn left onto Georgia Avenue (Rt. 97-North). Go approximately three miles to right turn onto Norbeck Road (Rt. 28-East). Turn left onto Layhill Road (Rt. 182-North). Go one-fourth mile to light, turn left onto Norwood Road. The entrance to SSFS is one-half mile on the right.

Via New Hampshire Avenue—Go north on New Hampshire (Rt. 650) through White Oak and past Randolph Road. Turn left onto Norwood Road. Continue through the light at Ednor Road/Layhill Road. Go approximately one-half mile after the light to SSFS entrance on the right.

From Points East:
From Columbia—Go west on Rt. 32 to left onto Rt. 108. Go approximately twelve miles on Rt. 108, continue through light at Ashton (intersection of Rt. 650-New Hampshire Avenue), into village of Sandy Spring. Turn left at light onto Norwood Road. At the stop sign, turn left to continue on Norwood, SSFS is one-fourth mile on the left. Alternate Columbia route: From Rt. 29, take Rt. 108 West, follow directions above.

From Burtonsville/Laurel areas—Go west on Rt. 198. Make a right onto New Hampshire Avenue. Go one mile and take a left onto Ednor Road. Turn right at the light onto Norwood Road. The entrance to SSFS is one-half mile on the right.

From Points West:
From Rockville—Go east on Norbeck Road (Rt.28), at Georgia Avenue (Rt. 97) stay straight, continuing on Norbeck Road. At the light turn left onto Layhill Road. Go one-fourth mile and turn left at the light at Norwood Road. The entrance to SSFS is one-half mile on the right.

From Gaithersburg—Go east on Rt. 108 to Olney (intersection at Rt. 97-Georgia Avenue). Continue on Rt. 108 to right turn onto Dr. Bird Road (opposite Olney Theatre). Continue one mile to the entrance to SSFS on the left. (Note: Dr. Bird Road becomes Norwood Road after approximately three-fourths of a mile).

From Points North:
Via Georgia Avenue (Rt. 97)—From I-70 take exit for Rt. 97 South ( Georgia Avenue extended). At Sunshine, turn left onto Rt. 650 ( New Hampshire Avenue). Take Rt. 650 to Ashton, turn right onto Rt. 108. Go approximately one mile into the village of Sandy Spring. At the light, turn left onto Norwood Road. At the stop sign, turn left to continue on Norwood Road. The entrance to SSFS is one-fourth of a mile on the left.

From Baltimore—Go south on I-95 to exit at Rt. 32 West toward Columbia. See directions above from Columbia.


Directions to St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Upper School Campus (Alexandria, VA)

From Shirley Highway (I-395):
Take Exit 4, Seminary Road East.  Follow Seminary Road for about one mile.  Turn right onto St. Stephen's Road.  Campus will be on your right.


Directions to St. Paul's School (Brooklandville, MD)

From I-695 (Baltimore Beltway):

Take Exit 23B, Falls Road. Follow Falls Road north through the third traffic light at Seminary Avenue. (Do not turn left at this intersection; you will be turning into the driveway for St. Paul’s School for Girls.) The entrance to St. Paul’s School is past the intersection of Seminary Avenue at the top of the hill on the left.

Directions from Baltimore:

Take I-83 north (Jones Falls Expressway). As the expressway ends, stay in the left lane and go past the I-695 exits. The expressway becomes Falls Road. Follow Falls Road north through the third traffic light at Seminary Avenue. (Do not turn left at this intersection; you will be turning into the driveway for St. Paul’s School for Girls.) The entrance to St. Paul’s School is past the intersection of Seminary Avenue at the top of the hill on the left.
