Below is a listing of site locations for summer 2012. You can also view a list of course offerings at each site.

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
Moravian College

Located in the historic city of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Moravian College is a selective liberal arts college. Founded in 1742, it is the sixth-oldest college in the nation. Moravian has two beautiful campuses, the Church Street campus and the Main Street campus. Our students primarily use the air-conditioned facilities of the Main Street campus, which is situated in a peaceful residential section of Bethlehem. The location of the campus allows easy access from Philadelphia and New York City, both of which are within two hours’ driving distance. Approximately 80 students and 20 staff are expected to attend each session.

Transportation: A student shuttle service is available only from Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE). You will receive maps, directions, and shuttle service details with your course notification.

Chestertown, Maryland
Washington College

Washington College is located in historic Chestertown on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Founded in 1782, it is the tenth-oldest college in the United States; George Washington was an early benefactor and member of the College’s Board of Visitors and Governors. Housing, dining, and classroom facilities are air conditioned. Approximately 240 students and 60 staff are expected to attend each session.

Transportation: A student shuttle service is available only from the Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI) and the BWI Rail Station. You will receive maps, directions, and shuttle service details with your course notification.

Palo Alto, California
Stanford University
Session 1: July 1 – July 20*
Session 2: July 22 – August 10* 

Stanford University was founded in 1891. Its campus occupies over eight thousand acres on the San Jose Peninsula, bounded by the city of Palo Alto and the foothills of the Santa Cruz mountain range. Affectionately called “the Farm” by generations of students, the Stanford campus is renowned as a pleasant haven for scholarly work. Residence halls at this site are not air conditioned. Approximately 200 students and 50 staff are expected to attend each session. Please note that it is not possible for students to attend the Palo Alto site as commuters.

Transportation: A student shuttle service is available only from San Francisco International Airport (SFO). You will receive maps, directions, and shuttle service details with your course notification.

*Please note: The dates for the Palo Alto site are one week later than our regular program dates.

South Hadley, Massachusetts
Mount Holyoke College

In the heart of New England, Mount Holyoke College’s 800-acre campus is located in the scenic Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts. Founded in 1837, Mount Holyoke is the nation’s oldest continuing liberal arts institution for women and was recently named one of The Princeton Review’s Top 5 Most Beautiful Campuses. South Hadley is 40 miles north of Hartford, 90 miles west of Boston, and 160 miles north of New York City. This beautiful college has air-conditioned classrooms and ample indoor and outdoor recreational facilities. Residence halls at this site are not air conditioned. Approximately 200 students and 50 staff are expected to attend each session.

Transportation: A student shuttle service is available only from Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, Connecticut, and the Amtrak Station in Springfield, Massachusetts. You will receive maps, directions, and shuttle service details with your course notification.

Thousand Oaks, California
California Lutheran University

Founded in 1959, California Lutheran University sits midway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara in the picturesque landscape of the Conejo Valley. Located in the quiet residential community of Thousand Oaks, California Lutheran is a selective liberal arts university that is dedicated to creating a diverse scholarly community focused on educating future global leaders. The University is equipped with air-conditioned classrooms, labs, and residence halls. Approximately 170 students and 45 staff are expected to attend each session.

Transportation: A student shuttle service is available only from Burbank Airport (BUR). For students traveling internationally only, shuttle service can be arranged to/from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). You will receive maps, directions, and shuttle service details with your course notification.

rLocations - Day Sites

Alexandria, Virginia
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School
Session 2 only: July 15 - August 3

St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School, a college preparatory, co-educational, Episcopal day school, was created by the 1991 merger of St. Stephen’s School (1944) and St. Agnes School (1924). Its upper school campus is located in a quiet residential area and includes a library, air-conditioned classrooms, a computer lab, and athletic facilities. Please note that for 2012, CTY will not have access to the gymnasium for the majority of the session.

Classes meet Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Before- and after-program care is available at an additional cost. Students should expect to do between 30 and 60 minutes of homework each week night. Approximately 325 students and 65 staff are expected to attend.

St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School is located approximately four miles inside the Washington Beltway near the intersection of Seminary Road and Quaker Lane in Alexandria. Carpool information, maps, and directions will be mailed with your course notification.

Brooklandville, Maryland
St. Paul’s School 
Session 1 only: June 24 - July 13

St. Paul’s School, founded in 1849, is a college preparatory, Episcopal day school that is coeducational in grades K-4 and only boys in grades 5-12. This International Baccalaureate World School overlooks the Greenspring Valley. Campus facilities include multiple libraries, air-conditioned classrooms with state-of-the-art technology, and abundant green space for play and activities.

Classes meet Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Before- and after-program care is available at an additional cost. Students should expect to do between 30 and 60 minutes of homework each week night. Approximately 250 students and 50 staff are expected to attend.

St. Paul’s School is located in Brooklandville approximately two miles north of the Baltimore Beltway (I-695), near the intersection of Falls Road and Seminary Avenue. Carpool information, maps, and directions will be mailed with your course notification.

La Jolla, California
La Jolla Country Day School
Session 1 only: June 24 - July 13

La Jolla Country Day School, founded originally as The Balmer School in 1926, is a coeducational, college-preparatory day school enrolling students in Pre-K through Grade 12. It was named the Best Private School (K-12) in San Diego in 2007 by readers of the San Diego Union-Tribune. Facilities on the 24-acre campus include a library, an outdoor amphitheater, a double gymnasium, a state-of-the-art theater, a fine arts building, science labs, and playing fields.

Classes meet Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Before- and after-program care is available at an additional cost. Students should expect to do between 30 and 60 minutes of homework each week night. Approximately 120 students and 25 staff are expected to attend.

La Jolla Country Day School is located in San Diego, near UCSD and the University Towne Center. Carpool information, maps, and directions will be mailed with your course notification.

Los Angeles, California
The Windward School
Both Sessions

Windward School is a not-for-profit, coeducational, college-preparatory day school founded in 1971 through the efforts of Shirley Windward, a well-known educator and writer. Windward’s nine-acre, tree-lined campus offers students a comfortable, spacious environment for study and recreation. Facilities include playing fields, a library, science and computer labs, and classrooms designed to use advanced educational technology.

Classes meet Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Before- and after-program care is available at an additional cost. Students should expect to do between 30 and 60 minutes of homework each week night. Approximately 200 students and 40 staff are expected to attend each session.

Windward School is located near Culver City and is readily accessible from the San Diego Freeway (405) and the Santa Monica Freeway (10). Carpool information, maps, and directions will be mailed with your course notification.

Pasadena, California
Maranatha High School
Session 1: June 16 - July 6*
Session 2: July 7 - July 27*

Maranatha High School is an interdenominational Christian college preparatory high school founded in 1965. In 2005 Maranatha relocated to a picturesque, 13-acre former college campus in the vibrant and historic area of West Pasadena, California. Maranatha’s facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, athletic fields, and a gymnasium.

Classes meet Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Before- and after-program care is available at an additional cost. Students should expect to do between 30 and 60 minutes of homework each week night. Approximately 120 students and 25 staff are expected to attend each session.

Maranatha High School is easily accessible from the Pasadena Freeway (110) and the Foothill Freeway (210). Carpool information, maps, and directions will be mailed with your course notification.

*Please note: The dates for the Pasadena day site are one week earlier than our regular program dates. Registration occurs on a Saturday. There is no class on Sunday.

Sandy Spring, Maryland
Sandy Spring Friends School
Both Sessions

The origin of the Sandy Spring Friends School dates back to 1797. The school was built on its present site in 1961. Quiet meadows and farmlands surround the environmentally conscious campus. Facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, science labs, a rammed earth middle school building, a dining hall in which students participate in composting, a computer lab, indoor and outdoor facilities for activities, and nature trails.

Classes meet Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Before- and after-program care is available at an additional cost. Students should expect to do between 30 and 60 minutes of homework each week night. Approximately 250 students and 50 staff are expected to attend each session.

Sandy Spring Friends School is located in Sandy Spring, between Columbia and Rockville, ten miles north of the Washington Beltway. Carpool information, bus service information, maps, and directions will be mailed with your course notification.
