Residential Program Assistant

As a member of the administrative and residential staffs, the residential program assistant (RPA) provides logistical support to the daily operation of both the site office and the residential program. Office responsibilities include providing clerical assistance, conducting supply runs, transporting students and staff, covering the front desk, answering and returning phone calls, and tending to other tasks related to the smooth operation of the site. In the residential program, the RPA may assist the resident assistants (RAs) in planning, preparing, and/or conducting daily residential activities and weekend events for students. All RPAs must also be prepared to assume the duties of an RA at any time. Specific RPA tasks and responsibilities vary widely with each site's and each day's demands.

Terms of Employment:

  • Starting salary is $2,900 for a seven-week period
  • Room and board are provided
  • Employees pay their travel to and from program locations
  • Travel assistance is provided for international travel to sites outside of North America

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability managing broad job responsibilities and expectations
  • Experience working in an office environment and providing outstanding customer service
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability supervising young people
  • Experience planning, organizing, and conducting recreational activities or events
  • For insurance purposes, must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Comfortable driving students in site vehicles
  • College GPA of 3.2 or better

The position is available at residential sites only. Programs run from late June to early August. Please refer to the Site Locations & Dates page for the specific dates of employment.
