CTY International Program Quickfacts

Eligibility—CTY’s international programs are open to all students in the designated grade range who qualified for a CTY program through either the SAT, ACT, or PSAT.
Course assignments—

Courses will be assigned on a rolling basis TBA. For course assignment purposes, applications received on or before this soon-to-be announced date will all be considered to have arrived on the same date. Please note that space is limited and sites fill quickly.

Course selection—

Each course you request represents a commitment on your part. Please only request courses you are interested in attending.

Daily schedule—

The CTY international locations have a very similar schedule to CTY domestic sites. Students are in class most of the day. The main differences are the opportunities to explore the broader community on weekends and as part of field trips. In addition, each CTY international site works to bring the host country’s cultures and traditions onto campus.

Financial aid—There may be limited financial aid available for the CTY international locations. To be considered for these funds as they become available, download a financial aid application form from our website and submit with a program application. A full tuition deposit and application fee must accompany the application. Please refer to CTY’s financial aid policies before applying for aid.
Travel—

Travel expenses are not included in the tuition. CTY is arranging group travel options for students traveling to China, Mexico, and Spain from select gateway airports in the US. Students traveling on their own may arrange to be picked up by CTY’s shuttle service. All students traveling abroad will need a valid passport and may need a visa or other documentation.

Health care—

CTY’s administrative staff will hold and dispense all medications. The only medications students may keep with them are topical skin medications, asthma inhalers, EpiPens®, and insulin. Each site will work with local health care providers to ensure appropriate treatment. Families should consult with a travel medicine specialist regarding suggested vaccinations or medications.

Students with disabilities—

If your child has a learning, physical, or medical disability, you must contact summer programs staff at 410-735-6215 to discuss those needs in the context of the academic, social, and residential aspects of the CTY international program.

Further questions—

If you have questions or need further information, please contact our information services office at 410-735-6278 or email us at ctyinfo@jhu.edu. Once registered, students will receive more detailed site information in their course assignment packets.
