CTY embodies Johns Hopkins University's mission "to bring the benefits of discovery to the world." Since 1979, CTY has conducted research in the area of gifted education and offered programs and services for pre-university students of high academic ability. CTY conducts the United State's oldest and most extensive university-based talent search for highly able youth. CTY's Talent Search is the first step toward participation in all CTY programs and services. Programs include residential and commuter Summer Programs, CTYOnline distance education courses, Family Academic Programs, and the Julian C. Stanley Study of Exceptional Talent. Services include the award-winning Imagine magazine, Cogito.org, the Diagnostic and Counseling Center, and the Johns Hopkins CTY Scholars.
