Creative Minds Writing Contest

We invite submissions for Imagine’s Creative Minds Poetry Contest.

We will award prizes in two age categories: 13 years and under, and 14-18 years. The first-place winner in each category will be published in the September/October 2012 issue of Imagine. Second- and third-place winners will be considered for publication in print or online. All winners will receive copies of the issue in which their work appears.

Winners will be announced in the Sept/Oct issue of Imagine and on the Imagine website.

Contest Guidelines:

1. Entrants must be 18 or under.
2. Entries must be received by Friday, July 6, 2012, at 5:00 ET.
   
3. There is no theme or topic for this competition. Free verse and formal poems are welcome.
   
4. Poems must not exceed 30 lines and must be titled.
   
5. Entrants may submit up to three poems.
   
6. Entries must include text only. Do not include photographs, illustrations, or background graphics or colors.
7. Poems must be entrant’s original work. Poems that have won other contests or that have appeared in any print or online publications are not eligible. 
8. Save all poems in a single Microsoft Word document with your last name as the file name. Submit your entry online here.
