If your eighth grade child has been on the gifted track, he or she may have taken algebra classes early, and might even be going to the local high school already to take advanced courses in other areas. Some are already discovering special interests in courses at school or enrichment topics outside school walls.
Through CTY, you and your child can learn more about your child’s verbal and math talents. More than that, by participating in the Search, you and your child connect to CTY’s rich resources available to qualified students and their families.
How CTY works
CTY is a multi-tiered program. You start with the CTY Talent Search. Testing helps you discover your child’s abilities, can lead to recognition at state academic ceremonies, and can open doors to CTY’s courses and services.
CTY means opportunities
Students who test with CTY and receive qualifying scores can take their academics to the next level. Our options are highly regarded choices for smart, motivated, engaged students.
CTYOnline offers a number of different math, middle school science, Intro to Forensics, foreign language (Arabic, Chinese, and Spanish), computer science and technology, Mastering the Fundamentals of Music, writing, critical reading (Art Meets Science), grammar (From Structure to Style) and visual fluency (Visual Literacy) courses to 8th grade students with qualifying scores.
CTY also offers hundreds of courses through our Summer Programs courses for qualifying students in grades 7-10, in three-week residential programs on college campuses in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachusetts, California, and Washington state.
All Talent Search students qualify for CTY’s Family Academic Programs--one-day or weekend courses offered at universities and art museums, science centers, and aquariums around the country that you and your child can attend together.
