Services for Schools

Academically talented students pose special challenges to schools. These students sometimes need educational accommodations to achieve to the full extent of their abilities. We have extensive experience working with academically talented students and can apply this expertise in helping schools better serve this unique population of students.

The Diagnostic and Counseling Center offers:

Consultations to assist schools in developing:

  • valid and appropriate models for identifying academically talented students
  • mathematics programs for mathematically gifted students
  • individual education programs (IEPs) for academically talented students, including students who are both gifted and learning disabled

Evaluations to help schools assess:

  • existing programs for talented students
  • current methods for identifying students for gifted programs

Assessment tools to help schools determine their students’

  • mathematical and verbal reasoning abilities
  • visual-spatial reasoning abilities
  • achievement levels

Consultation services can take place either at our offices in Baltimore or at your school. Costs for school consultation services vary depending on the nature and extent of services provided. For more information, please contact the Diagnostic and Counseling Center.
