| If You Love to Learn, You'll Love CTY! The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth is the first and most comprehensive program of its kind in the nation. More than 80,000 students participate in thr CTY Talent Search each year, drawn by the academic excellence and environment of intellectual safety CTY provides. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and abilities and imagine their bright futures. Exceptionally bright children from all of America's neighborhoods deserve to be identified and encouraged. |
Talented Students Fit in at CTY Each year, students test in the CTY Talent Search. Qualified students are invited to attend CTY summer programs held on school and college campuses across the country. Here, talented students meet other students like themselves. The course work is challenging, and students have the opportunity to experience learing in nontraditional settings. Computer science... chemistry... math... archeology... nonfiction writing... flight science...students can choose from 100 great courses. CTY Reaches Out to Students From All of America's Neighborhoods Exceptionally bright children from all of America's neighborhoods deserve to be identified and encouraged. CTY works closely with school officials and community organizations to identify and invite under-represented students to participate in CTY's Talent Search and academic programs. Students and Parents Treasure the CTY Experience CTY supports student success and places students in charge of their learning. Above-level testing helps students and families understand their child's abilities. The summer program exposes students to challenging academic course work in classrooms, while distance education programs offer challenging web-based course work. Other options - from counseling to special one-day college and career previews - are all designed to nurture academic talent. | "She returned from CTY happier, more content and self- familyident. Scholarships are Available Financial assistance is available every step of the way for qualifying families. These include application and testing fees, full or partial tuition, required class textbooks, and modest travel assistance. Where to find CTY Outreach Programs In our strong commitment to diversity, CTY makes intensive efforts to reach out to traditionally under-represented groups across the U.S. Our outreach efforts take place everywhere. I Want to Know More...How do I Qualify? Students start with the CTY Talent Search. The search is open to students scoring in the top three percentiles on standardized tests. Students enrolling in the search then take an above-grade-level test, from which they learn more about their abilities and gain recognition from CTY. Students who meet the program requirements gain the chance to attend exciting programs held on school and college campuses at over 20 locations throughout the U.S.
