Advanced registration is recommended. Students are encouraged to register as early as possible as many programs fill up quickly. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration confirmation--including exact times, directions to the event, and meals--are mailed to participants prior to the program date. There are three ways to register for Family Academic Programs:
CTY accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover and checks or money orders made payable to JHU/CTY. Payments submitted will be processed automatically upon receipt. However, your family’s reservation is secured only when you receive your written confirmation. In the event that the program is filled, you will be issued a complete credit and put on a waiting list. Please do not purchase non-refundable airline tickets or hotel reservations until you receive written registration confirmation. Please note that all past due balances (for any CTY program) must be paid prior to registration for a Family Academic Program. All payments will be applied to past due balances first.
All CTY Talent Search participants are eligible to attend Family Academic Programs. No minimum qualifying scores are required. At least one parent or guardian must register and attend with the student(s). Siblings will be admitted but they must be registered for the event and their age must be within the program age limit specified.
To withdraw from a program, you must notify the CTY Family Academic Programs in writing. For cancellations made 30 days or more prior to the event, registrants will be charged a processing fee of $25 per family for one-day events; $50 per family for overnight programs; and $250 per family for extended programs. From 29 to 15 days prior, registrants will be charged one-half of the total amount paid. There will be no credit for any cancellations received less than 15 days prior to the event. All cancellations must be made in writing. Refunds are issued in the same method of payment (check or charge) used for initial payment. Processing time for refunds is approximately four to six weeks from cancellation notice. Refunds can only be sent to the student's address of record. Based on CTY’s available funds and the family’s demonstrated need, CTY’s goal is to provide assistance to enable qualified gifted students to participate in our programs. Eligibility for CTY’s limited Financial Aid considers factors such as parent income, available discretionary resources, family size and any special circumstances.
