Portugal for Families

CANCELED

Portugal is a living history book, a place where Roman and Moorish influences are apparent, where the medieval character of villages still exists, and ancient castles and cathedrals rise on hills. Its rich history is filled with kings and queens and the daring sea voyages of the world's greatest explorers.

Our journey will begin in Lisbon, where we will enjoy an outing to the green hills and old quarters of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has bewitched visitors for centuries. The Moors fell in love with Sintra’s mystical hills dotted with fairy tale palaces and extravagant villas, and they built a hilltop castle and several fountains around the town. After visiting more exciting sites in and around Lisbon, we will move on to Lousa, located at the base of the mountains in eastern Portugal. Lousa is the perfect spot to explore the incredible natural surroundings and charming villages of the region. Our adventure will conclude with a visit to the beautiful village of Amarante and two days in the famed city of Oporto.

Join us for this journey of discovery where your family will walk into history and experience the vibrancy of contemporary Portugal’s art and culture and its warm people. Hike a mountain, kayak a river, and meet local families. Our itinerary is guaranteed to capture the imaginations of parents and kids alike.
