Pizza Party is an optional activity for students who want to interact online with other CTYOnline students beyond their coursework. It is an online discussion forum where students can talk about books, movies, music, philosophy—whatever.
To learn more, visit the Pizza Party information page. In order to participate in Pizza Party, the student's parent must "opt in" using the Pizza Party online form. The parent will need the student's CTY ID number, and email messages will be sent to confirm the choice.
Our students are most successful when they work consistently. However, we realize that situations occur which cause a student to be away from the program for an extended period of time. MyCTY* allows you to postpone your child's individually paced CTYOnline course for an extended absence, preserving enrollment time. Parents may postpone their child's enrollment in an individually paced course for seven days or longer, up to a year.
To submit a postponement request, log into MyCTY as Parent, choose Student Participation, then Submit Postponement. Postponement requests must be submitted at least one day before you would like the postponement to begin, and you will have the option of specifying a resume date or you may leave that blank. If you leave the resume date blank, you will need to log in and select a resume date at least 3 days before you would like the student to return to the course, so it is important to plan ahead.
For a student enrolled in multiple courses, each course requires a separate postponement request. MyCTY is the ONLY management tool for postponing your student’s enrollment. Enrollment cannot be postponed by email or phone request. Postponements cannot be applied retroactively.
* To access MyCTY, go to cty.jhu.edu, select the MyCTY login, and choose Parent. Enter your MyCTY Login Name and MyCTY Password. If you do not know your MyCTY login information, select the "Forgot Your Password" link or call the Information Office at 410-735-6277 during business hours.
