Grades 2 - 6 Qualifying verbal or math score and successful completion of Chinese for Elementary Students, Intermediate Level, Part III, or equivalent Visit our textbook web page This course is a continuation of Chinese for Elementary Students, Intermediate Part III for students who want to continue to reinforce listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. This course is the last one in the intermediate level for elementary students. Students become familiar with the characters and vocabulary so that pinyin is gradually omitted in the textbook. Conversation topics are based on daily life. The course keeps a fun and interactive approach with course materials, and the teacher may incorporate materials in addition to the textbook. Online courses are held twice per week, and separate conversational sessions with instructor and teaching assistant are arranged with each student. Students interact with the instructors and other students using Internet-based software. Course materials include a textbook and a workbook purchased separately by the student. Biweekly interactive virtual online sessions are held in the evenings (both EST and PST). A school's need to hold daytime sessions for its students will be honored whenever possible. Separate conversation sessions between each student and the instructor or teaching assistant are arranged individually.
CTY Online courses require a properly-maintained computer with Internet access and a recent-version web browser (such as Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer) with the Adobe Flash plugin.
