Why CTYOnline Distance Courses?

CTY's mission since 1979 has been to serve the needs of gifted students throughout the world, providing challenging courses that match their ability.  CTYOnline distance courses offer eligible students opportunities to accelerate and enrich their learning at home or at their schools.  Students can take more advanced math courses, for example, without having to take a bus to a high school or college, and without having to miss their other classes at their local school.

CTYOnline offers students in grades K-12 challenging academic course work throughout the year. Some students use the courses to enrich and supplement the curriculum during the school year, or to advance academic goals during the summer. CTYOnline distance education courses are important components of the curriculum for many home schoolers as well. Many students arrange with their schools to take CTYOnline distance courses for credit, as replacements for classes at school. Of course, many take courses for the love of learning or to build up confidence in the subject matter.

CTYOnline offers courses in a wide variety of academic subjects, including mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, writing, language arts, computer science, psychology, economics, government, foreign language, and others. Courses are challenging and appropriate for gifted students. We bring together the best resources for each course, which may include texts, student guides, CD-ROMs, and web-based resources. Each student works with a qualified CTY faculty member who provides guidance, feedback, encouragement, and evaluation.  CTYOnline courses are available year-round.
